Born in Newlyn Cornwall England in 1956, worked in the Seventies as a chef in the world rekowned Lobster pot Hotel, cooking for David Bowie, the kinks, dame Judy Dench.
My cooking career was stopped after a car accident whelst a passenger in a car. Our car was hit by another, my seat belt broke and I went through the windscreen. Next, the car that hit us bulldozed our car on top of me, I was trapped for an hour.
That was the end of my catering career at just twenty years old. I sustained a brain and back injuries, that to this day plague me. But dispite this I wrote and published my first book, Proper Cornish Childhood.
The book is all about me growing up in Cornwall in the early sixties, and about the wonderful places I got to play in and visit.
the main part of the book is about my witnessing of the sinking of the Torrey Canyon oil Tanker just off Lands End. I watched the RAF bombe the oil tanker from a Cornish cliff top, when only ten years old.
My book tells of the whole incident from start to finish, and describes the utter mess it made of the Cornish beach's and other parts of the Uk and beyond.
